ACADEMICS
PWI’s academic component is the most important aspect of the program. Our philosophy is that everything a student does at PWI is education, even the recreation therapies. But our academics program is divided in such a way to meet the learning levels of each individual student. Class size is normally restricted to only eight students to maximize effectiveness. Students are rotated through a computer lab to provide introduction and training for computers skills. Skills Bank software is used to enable students to progress individually at their on pace. The GED component is highly emphasized to provide those students who are capable to receive their high school equivalency. Scholarships are made available for those students who receive their GED's and wish to continue with secondary education. PWI maintains at least three certified teachers on staff, one being Special Education, to provide high school credit and specialized instruction.
Mr. Steven Crisp coordinates all
the educational components as our Director of Education and Special Education
